These Terms of Service govern services purchased from or provided by The Information Studio. By purchasing a service, submitting an intake form, or otherwise engaging The Information Studio, you agree to these terms.
Services
The Information Studio provides asynchronous information-cleanup and organization services, including services such as spreadsheet cleanup, digital file cleanup, and ongoing information maintenance.
The specific scope, price, limits, and deliverables for each service are described on the website or agreed upon before work begins.
Services are designed to be clearly bounded. Work outside the purchased scope may require a separate purchase or additional agreement.
Asynchronous Communication
The Information Studio operates primarily through written, asynchronous communication.
Services do not include meetings, phone calls, video calls, or live consulting unless specifically agreed to in writing.
Clients are responsible for monitoring the email address provided during purchase or intake for questions, updates, and delivery information.
Payment
Payment is due before work begins unless otherwise stated.
One-time services are charged at the price shown at the time of purchase.
Monthly Information Maintenance is billed on a recurring month-to-month basis until canceled.
Prices may change in the future, but changes will not affect services already purchased.
Client Materials
You are responsible for providing the files, information, instructions, and access reasonably necessary to complete the service.
You represent that you have the right to provide any materials submitted to The Information Studio and to authorize work on those materials.
Please retain your own backup copies of important files before submitting them. The Information Studio should not be treated as your sole storage or backup provider.
Scope of Work
The Information Studio will perform the service described in the purchased offer.
Unless specifically included in the service description, services do not include:
- original research
- substantive writing or rewriting
- legal, financial, medical, or other regulated professional advice
- extensive data entry
- software development
- restoration of irretrievably corrupted or inaccessible files
- work beyond stated file, row, item, or project limits
If submitted materials substantially exceed the purchased scope, The Information Studio may pause the project and contact you before proceeding.
Turnaround Times
Any turnaround time shown on the website is an estimate unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Turnaround may be affected by project size, incomplete materials, delayed client responses, technical issues, or other circumstances outside reasonable control.
The Information Studio will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant delays.
Corrections
If something within the agreed scope was missed or completed incorrectly, you may request one correction round within 7 days of delivery.
Corrections are intended to address errors or omissions within the original scope. They do not include new files, additional work, changed instructions, expanded scope, research, rewriting, or a substantially different desired outcome.
Additional work may require a new purchase or separate agreement.
Refunds and Cancellations
Refunds and cancellations are governed by the separate Refund & Cancellation Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms of Service.
In general, one-time services may be canceled for a refund before work begins. Once customized work has begun, payments are generally non-refundable.
Monthly services may be canceled before the next billing date to prevent future renewals.
File Delivery and Retention
Completed work will be delivered electronically.
Clients are responsible for downloading and safely storing delivered files.
The Information Studio is not intended to serve as permanent file storage. Submitted and completed materials may be deleted after a reasonable period following delivery.
For privacy and security reasons, The Information Studio may periodically remove old project files and records that are no longer needed for providing the service or maintaining required business records.
Confidentiality and Privacy
The Information Studio will take reasonable care when handling client materials and will not intentionally disclose private client information or project materials to unrelated third parties except where reasonably necessary to provide the service, operate supporting systems, process payments, comply with law, or protect legitimate rights.
Personal information is also handled according to the site’s Privacy Policy.
Clients should not submit passwords, highly sensitive authentication credentials, or information that is unnecessary for the requested service.
Third-Party Services
The Information Studio may use third-party services for functions such as payment processing, email, file transfer, website hosting, or cloud storage.
Those services operate under their own terms and privacy practices.
The Information Studio is not responsible for outages, failures, or actions of third-party platforms outside its reasonable control.
Ownership
You retain ownership of the materials you provide.
After full payment, you may use the customized deliverables created specifically for your project for your personal or business purposes.
The Information Studio retains ownership of its pre-existing methods, processes, templates, systems, know-how, branding, and general tools used to perform services.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of The Information Studio’s underlying methods or intellectual property.
No Guarantee of Specific Results
The Information Studio provides organization, cleanup, and information-management services with reasonable professional care.
However, no specific business, financial, productivity, search-ranking, technical, or other outcome is guaranteed.
You remain responsible for how you use the delivered materials and for reviewing information before relying on it for important decisions.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, The Information Studio will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from the use of its services.
The Information Studio’s total liability relating to a particular service will not exceed the amount you paid for that service.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
Refusal or Termination of Service
The Information Studio may decline or stop work when materials or requests are unlawful, abusive, unsafe, materially outside the agreed scope, or otherwise inappropriate for the service.
If The Information Studio ends a project for reasons unrelated to client misconduct after payment has been made, any appropriate refund will be determined according to the amount of work already completed and applicable law.
Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time.
The version in effect when you purchase a service will generally govern that purchase unless a change is required by law or mutually agreed upon.
